a Valentine melange

This Thursday would have been our 10th wedding anniversary.  Although we were a couple for longer than that.  I realized a couple of things recently.

  • That I have been a widow longer than we were married.
  • That I have lived in the home we built in Hutto the same length of time I lived on Alpha Collier.

Last night I watched The Three Faces of Eve.  This morning I noodled around google about Joanne Woodward.  I came across this collection of photos of Joanne and Paul.  Beautifully curated.  I was jealous.  I wish we could have had 50 years like that.

Was reading my AARP magazine.  (Jim did not like AARP).  There was an interview with Andrea Bocelli, whom I adore. (you can listen to Andrea sing “Love in Portofino,” from his new album, Passione on this site as well).  I love this quote from him:

“I was an agnostic until I realized that I had to choose between God and fate.  The idea that humanity and nature are the result of fate was not convincing at all.  I find the presence of God everywhere.”

I bought pink and red tulips this week.  When we lived in Holland I loved the Queen of the Night tulip.

A couple of weeks ago, Jim was in a dream of mine. A very rare thing.  I held his face in my hands and felt his skin.  Hi sweetie.  Happy Valentine’s Day.

love always

  1. My FBI guy was here for 24 hours in December and I do not know what life holds but that love still pervades my feelings. Never have I had that total consumption of living a dream. It may be but it is a dream to be cherished.
